HOW WE HELP AND TRANSFORM

Helping Businesses Build Ethical Compliance That Works in Practice

Ethical Knowhow works with growers, producers and suppliers worldwide who want more than a one-off audit outcome.

My role is to help businesses move from reactive, last-minute ethical compliance to a planned, structured and sustainable approach — one that genuinely supports how the business operates day to day.

This is not about adding unnecessary paperwork or creating complex systems.

It is about understanding what ethical requirements actually mean in practice, identifying what really matters, and putting clear, workable processes in place.

I work alongside businesses at different stages of their ethical journey — from early clarification and audit preparation through to long-term ethical development and leadership support.

To support this, I use a structured Ethical Assessment process to:

- bring clarity

- identify gaps and risks

- prioritise what matters most

- build a realistic and manageable plan forward

- All without overwhelm.

Ways I Support Businesses

Support is always tailored to your business, but typically includes:

- Ethical Discovery & Advisory
Helping you clearly understand where you are, what matters most, and what practical steps will make the biggest difference.

- Pre-Audit Ethical Preparation
Calm, structured preparation for ethical audits — focusing on systems, documentation, communication and culture, not just paperwork.

- Ongoing Ethical Development
Support throughout the year to strengthen systems, improve monitoring, support managers and reduce repeat issues.

- Ethical Leadership & Transformation
Strategic support for senior leaders who want ethical best practice to strengthen culture, performance and long-term sustainability.

What Makes This Different

Most ethical support focuses on what needs to be shown to an auditor.

Ethical Knowhow focuses on how ethical best practice actually works inside your business.

That means:

clearer systems people understand

better communication between leadership, managers and workers

increased confidence at all levels

fewer surprises at audit time

reduced repeat non-conformances

a calmer, more controlled approach overall

For the right businesses, ethical compliance becomes an investment — not a cost.

How We Start

Every business is different.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution.

That’s why all support starts with a Discovery Conversation — to understand your business, your pressures, and the type of support that will genuinely add value.

Meet Jon Mason

Founder of Ethical Knowhow

- Ethical Compliance Guru -

I’m Jon Mason, founder of Ethical Knowhow.

For many years, I’ve worked alongside growers, producers and suppliers across global supply chains, supporting businesses through ethical audits, customer requirements and workplace standards.

What I’ve seen time and time again is this:

Ethical compliance isn’t difficult because people don’t care.
It’s difficult because businesses are rarely given clear, practical support that works in the real world.

That’s where I come in.

My role is to help businesses approach ethical compliance with calm, clarity and confidence — moving beyond last-minute preparation and towards structured, sustainable ethical best practice.

I work in a practical, human and realistic way.
No unnecessary pressure.
No overcomplication.
Just clear guidance, prioritisation and support that fits how your business actually operates day to day.

I believe ethical compliance should support people — not overwhelm them.

When systems are clear, communication is strong and leadership is supported, ethical compliance stops being something to “get through” and starts becoming a genuine strength within the business.

That’s why I created Ethical Knowhow — to support those who feed the world and help ethical best practice strengthen businesses from the inside out.

WHY ETHICAL KNOWHOW

Ethical Compliance That Works in Practice

Ethical Knowhow was created to help businesses move away from reactive, last-minute compliance and towards structured, sustainable ethical best practice.

With many years of hands-on experience across global produce supply chains, I understand the reality businesses face — not just the theory behind the standards.

I work with growers, producers and suppliers who are balancing:

- customer and audit pressure

- seasonal and diverse workforces

- evolving ethical standards such as SMETA 7

- documentation and system challenges

- time, resource and operational constraints

My approach is practical, calm and grounded in real-world experience.

Rather than focusing only on what needs to be shown to an auditor, Ethical Knowhow focuses on how ethical best practice actually functions inside your business — day to day, week to week, and year to year.

That means supporting:

- clearer systems that people understand

- stronger communication between leadership, managers and workers

- better visibility of risk before it becomes a problem

- fewer repeat non-conformances

- calmer, more controlled audits

Ethical compliance does not need to be overwhelming or disruptive.

When approached in the right way, it becomes a framework that supports people, strengthens management, and contributes to long-term business stability.

Ethical Knowhow is not about quick fixes or box-ticking.

It is about helping the right businesses build ethical systems that work — now and into the future.

For those who feed the world, ethical best practice should be a strength — not a burden.
